Bennett 150 Review
Bennett 150 is one of the most attractive sports bikes in Bangladesh, although it was made by China and the resale price of the bike is so low, the younger generation of Bangladesh would prefer to ride a sports bike rather than a standard bike. Bennett 150 was first introduced in Bangladesh in 2013 but it took some time for them to begin their official journey.

They started their journey officially on 6th October 2013 in Dhaka. Bennett 150 is a motorcycle with reasonable prices where the price of a bike of any Japanese or Indian brand in the same category is huge. Basically, this is a carbon copy of the Yamaha R125. Like some importers, which used to launch copy bikes in the market, MAF Motors wanted to make the same things.

But, they brought some change. They copied R125 instead of Honda. However, in Bennett 150, company used an air-cooled engine where rest sports bikes have oil-cooled engine technology. Also, they originally used the 225cc engine but their claimed engine capacity was 150cc. Though they followed Yamaha R125 some features were changed completely. Like speedometer is not like the R125 and there is also a kicker included in the bike.

The rest features of the bike are not so bad where there are pillion grabrail and sporty handlebar. Besides, the tires are also good and grip well. However, the max power of the bike is confusing. According to the company, it has 19 Bhp max power and considering this fact, it’s acceleration would be better than it’s direct rivals Katana and Megelli. Let’s see the specification of the bike below.

Design and Appearance: There is no question about the design and appearance of the Bennett 150 which is completely identical to the Yamaha R125. Full faired Bennett 150 is gorgeous. It’s full aerodynamic body kit helps to cross wind.

The tires are quite spacious and have split seat positions consistent with the full sporty fuel tank. Nicely comfortable and sporty handlebar makes the looks complete. There is also an aggressive engine guard with beautiful adjusted mono-shock absorbers. The two parted headlamp is completely similar with R125.

Engine Performance: The bike's 150cc engine is very powerful for the bike. The company actually used the 225cc engine but they claimed it to be 150cc. Besides, the maximum strength of the bike is much better and better than most sports bikes available in Bangladesh. The maximum power is 19 bhp and according to the same figures the maximum torque is 17.3 nm / 5500r / min.

The CDI ignition system is included with the bike. In addition to self-starting, the kick-starting system is also included. A total of five-speed gearboxes have been added to the wet type multi-plate clutch plate. The condensation ration of Bennett 150 is low. However, the bike can run at a top speed of around 125 km/h.

Dimensions and Seating Position: Length * Width * Height of Bennett 150 respectively 2000 mm * 690 mm * 1075 mm. The dimensions make it completely sporty. Like a sports motorcycle, it has split seats where up to a pillion people can ride with riders. However, the bike's fuel tank capacity is 14 liters, which seems to be even bigger. The Bennett 150 weighs 139kg, with a 1340mm wheelbase. Ground clearance 170 mm. In addition, the bike can carry a maximum load of 150 kg.

Suspension & Brakes: The motorcycle suspensions are minimum which is not so perfect. Due to the Chinese-made suspension, the suspension is also from China where the front shock absorber suspension is used for the front wheel and the rear suspension is used as a single absorber.

Although, the braking condition of the Bennett 150 is good where the front and rear hydraulic disc brakes are used. The front disc is larger than the rear reported that it is a sports quality bike and, therefore, dual hydraulic disc brakes were needed and were both very short to control due to the disc brakes.

Mileage: Bennett 150's mileage is not so good. It consumes a lot of fuel because of the Chinese sports bikes. However, the average mileage of the bike is 38 km which will be 42 km on the highway and less than 35 km on the city road.

Instrument Panel and Features: The bike's instrument console has been completely updated. It has digital speedometer, tachometer, clock, digital fuel gauge, low fuel and low oil indicator are also added to the panel. Besides, there is nicely shaped pillion grabrail and trun lamp is also located to the bike.

Color and Price: Red, Blue, and Black are the three available colors of Bennett 150 in Bangladesh, which is the current market price of  BDT 2,40,000. The price is comparatively higher than most of the available Chinese bikes and so, it’s demand in market is poor. Due to low resale value and poor service, young generation does not take it as their prime choice.
